The attempt by Hallmark Events Group to “blackmail” the sports ministry into giving them RM3.5 million for “security arrangements” is a prime example of how badly we need a strong sports commissioner to uphold the Sports Development Act 1997. Hallmark cited security reasons for postponing the Dec 11-18 tournament but in an email reply to Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, they had admitted they do not have enough funding. The security guard who shot an AmBank officer in the face with a shotgun during a robbery in Subang Jaya last month was arrested in Johor Baru this morning, as reported here . This was revealed by Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar via his Twitter account. A manhunt was launched after the security guard had allegedly shot dead a bank operations officer in a robbery at the Ambank branch in USJ Sentral on Oct 23. It is learnt the victim was opening the door to the vault‎ when she was shot, as reported then by MSN . HD says: Well done to PDRM.
