Two Malaysian athletes who competed in the Indonesia Sea Games were found to have tested positive for banned substance. Unconfirm reports suggest the athletes are from athletics and weightlifting. The matter was first highlighted by Astro Arena's Nadi Arena last night. The sample B will now be tested as the Olympic Council of Malaysia has been asked by the Indonesian organisers to provide a clarification - as reported in today's Mailsport. If found guilty, the athletes will be slapped with a two year ban and their awards withdrawn. HD says: Sigh!

National Sports Institute (NSI) Dr Ramlan Aziz ( pic ) stressed officials from National Sports Associations and coaches can do more in educating their athletes when it comes to dealing with prohibited drugs. Ramlan lambasted certain officials for their lackadaisical attitude adding the NSI can only do so much. In his own words: "Some don't care while there are those who are ever willing to sweep things under a musty old carpet that stinks of fish!" Read more in today's Mailsport . Two UniKL players failed anti-doping tests as the Malaysian Hockey Federation will now decide on the next course of action. Read S.Ramaguru's full report as published in The Star here. All three players tested positive for the use of recreation drugs. The two players tested positive in the present case also used similar drugs. It is learnt that no hockey player has been caught for performance- enhancing drugs. Word on the street is that some of the younger athletes are hooked on recreational drugs.
