There are ugly, self-defeating, barricades on key streets in the Golden Triangle ahead of a street car race early August — and we will all get lost in the city soon. Weep all you want, now that Kuala Lumpur has been transformed into a dreary, unfashionable and undesirable capital city. The spirit of city life has vanished since the set up for the KL Grand Prix began two weeks ago. No one is saying what sort of research went into holding the event in the heart of KL. What we know is City Hall chose not to hear views from the public, business community and public transport operators. I also wonder why did it take so long for action to be taken after the landslide at the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve on May 7 ? We have not seen any construction of reinforced concrete wall or soil nailing. In fact, the blue torn plastic sheets have been the only protection for the past six months.   Apparently KL City Hall will only now start remedial works as it is the rainy season.   It has been raining almost every night and soil erosion is bound to happen.   All I can do is to pray that I will not be alerted of a landslide resulting in the deaths of many as I go to bed at the end of the day. Any man with football at heart would know that a marching band competition on the field will do more harm than good. It doesn't help that the city team is in a pathetic state - and now to rob away their home? If there are no efforts to aid the team, just pull the team out of the league and spend the same money on improving the traffic and flood woes in KL. I had a dream. It was a dream where KL players will receive their full wages including some additional cash, dubbed as 'bonus' on August 13. The players will receive their money from the new KL Mayor Ahmad Phesal Talib during the Malaysia Games incentive ceremony at Putrajaya. My dream also revealed that KL City Hall have big plans for the city team and are eager to pump in funds on one condition - to strictly monitor KLFA accounts. But in my dream, there were several officials which are apparently disgruntled with each other. Apparently some officials keep complaining that the players and some coaching staff are throwing matches. But I don't remember seeing the 'complainant' producing any form of evidence of such claims in my dream. And suddenly I woke up. Sadly, I didn't know how my dream would end. If KL - with their financial assistance - would do well in the Premier League next season. Oh well, hopefully the dream will reappear again tonight. ...
