TMJ quits as Johor FA president

Image
Johor Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim has quit as Johor FA president after helming the association slightly over a year. His presence in the scene raised eyebrows due to the manner he was made president and was seen at the sidelines which is only restricted to accredited personnel. Money, and lots of it, was spent on getting some of the best players in town. Under his leadership, the management decided to change Super League club Johor FC as Darul Takzim FC while Premier League outfit Johor FA remained the same. Former Singapore international Fandi Ahmad was hired to guide the southern team. There was also the ' spat ' between Johor FA and Kelantan. He spoke publicly about match-fixing in the league and even claimed a police officer was involved. Tunku Ismail spoke his mind and shared his views with the author as reported here .   However, Tunku Ismail's comments , lambasting FAM's attitude in combating match-fixing and the poor refereeing standards did not come...

Johor's three key ingredients

Image
Discipline, dedication and integrity. Johor FA president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim believes those are the three key ingredients that will ensure the success of southern teams Johor and Johor United. For the record, Super League outfit Johor FC will now play as Johor while the Premier League Johor FA team will be known as Johor United next season. Fandi Ahmad will play team manager cum chief coach for Johor with Ismail Ibrahim as coach. Azmi Mohamed, meanwhile, is the coach for Johor United. Among the players that will don the colours of Johor next year include former Spain national player Daniel Guiza ( pic ), Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, Muslim Ahmad and the Abdul Radzak twins -Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha. The unification of both teams was expected based on my meeting with the Johor prince in March as seen here . It will be interesting to note Johor and Johor United's progression in their respective leagues. Johor FC were placed ninth in the Super League while Johor F...

TMJ slams FAM

Image
I've checked with FAM. According to them, they have no clue of such news. In fact, if there's any decision or changes in Johor Football. I my self will announce it in a press conference during our annual general meeting. That was taken from Johor FA president Tunku Ismail Idris Sultan Ibrahim's twitter account. Then the Johor Prince went on to say (picture); There was never a request to FAM by Johor FA to have two teams next season. ESPN and FAM get your facts right before coming out with such statement. ESPN had merely lifted NST's article - Brunei eye return to M-League . The article read; Meanwhile, Johor FA, under the leadership of Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, had submitted a request to FAM to have two state teams for next season but the national body rejected it. So what's the real deal? HD says: Will Tunku Ismail face the Disciplinary Board for his outburst on twitter - in breach of the infamous and draconian Article 88 of the...

What's the REAL story?

The Johor AAA claim they are yearning for change - as seen here . They claim they have got the support of many of the states AAA including FT. But FTAAA dismissed those claims by saying "they support the majority" and it should not be misconstrued as FTAAA supporting Tunku Ismail. “Our (FTAAA) council have not met, so how can we decide who we should be backing? Our council will discuss the matter when the nomination forms are out and only then we will decide." Read more here . Insiders claim most of the state representatives were unaware of the attempt to bring in Tunku Ismail until they were asked to "menghadap Tunku Ismail" by Johor AAA. When they met Tunku Ismail, they were all apparently in their "bodek mode". If these bunch of people really claim they yearn for changes, then they should know that Tunku Ismail - with all due respect - is not a suitable candidate as he already has his hands full with Johor FA. Tunku Ismail has got big plans for t...

Winds of change?

IT was their fourth meeting since 2010. Naturally, the FA of Malaysia (FAM) Exco took over four hours to discuss various matters — from management to matchfixing. The meeting was chaired by FAM deputy-president Tengku Abdullah Shah. The Exco is supposed to meet four times a year. It was Tengku Abdullah who wanted the Exco meetings, even informally once a month. Those who sat through the meetings could sense a wind of change. It was obvious Tengku Abdullah had taken over the reins from the president, Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is also his father. “It is clear he wants to clear the deadwood in FAM. He only wants to work with sincere members,” said an Exco member who declined to be named. This include introducing radical changes by 2022 with reforms in the national teams and leagues. Read more here . Some of the other matters Tengku Abdullah spoke about; On Tengku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim announcing on twitter he was the new Johor FA president and that FAM was not aware of his “appointment”: “It...
