Illegal KL import?

NST's Devinder Singh and I were watching KL play Armed Forces in a friendly match at the KLFA Academy in Taman Melati on Tuesday.

We were keeping close tabs on several players and as I was trying to identify a particular player - Jacob Anderson from Ghana.

And when Devinder pointed out Anderson to me, I quickly said; "Damn, he looks like Snoop Dogg."

Devinder agreed instantaneously.

Later we met the midfielder, thinking he could be the right player for KL.

We were wrong.

Apparently Anderson is an illegal. He has overstayed in the country for more than seven months.

Damn!

Read all about it in today's Mailsport.

HD says: And this is the 'quality' of foriegn footballers trying to play in Malaysia.

  1. funny thing is, the FA seems to be ok with giving trial to "imports" that came knocking down their door.
no credentials, no agents, no history, nothing..and we all wonder why Malaysian football is the same or even worst than we were 25 years ago.

p/s - nasib baik dia mengaku dia illegal, kalau dia mengaku he used to play untuk nigeria under 17,18 and main youth world cup, ..or maybe he did tell this to you guys?. hehehe

  3. Why blame these imports? What were the management guys at KLFA were doing and allow these nonsense to happen? 22 years of pro football and yet we see these lack of seriousness to support the development of the game. Do KLFA has a vetting committee to assess the quality or status of the players either local or imports? Do something about this FAM ( maybe you can take the key officials for study tour as how to run a professional club as you did in 1988 ). May Good Lord help to save our football. Thanks Haresk.

Or do i need to suggest attend any course google for dumb for our football official over here?another thing haresh need to check guy bwele for Sarawak team. In wiki they was a case one fraudster name Guy Bwele attend a trial in Norway League. I hope Sarawak get the genuine one rather then the 'copy' Guy Bwele

  9. Bring in South Korean or Japanese or Iranians football players that are currently playing for their national football team and are currently playing in their top flight division league. Only 3 Koreans and 3 Japanese have played in the M League so far. If you look at other leagues around the world, be it ASEAN League, Asia League or even in Europe there are many Japanese and Koreans. So hopefully, KL can secure some sponsors, maybe tie up with local companies, maybe let say maxis, or Sime Darby, or firefly airlines, or digi. Hopefully by next season KL can find and sign two good import players from Japan and Korea.
