NZ Brigade return after 25 years

1The 44th Cobra 10s would see the return of 11-time winners 1st New Zealand Brigade after a 25-year absence.

Organising committee chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan believes the return of the Kiwis, who previously participated in the tournament as they were based in Singapore, would boost the strong field at PJ Stadium on Nov 9–10.

Cobra, who finished runners up to Daveta Rugby last year, are expected to be among the front runners but Krishnan was quick to add it was still anyone's game.

"The tournament has received tremendous support with a strong line-up of teams from seven nations. Malaysia will be represented by six local clubs. We are excited with the return of 1st New Zealand Brigade and first timers Cambodia," he said.

"We hope Cobra win the tournament this time but it is all about making the most of the 20 minutes on the pitch."
