FAM awards match to JDT; Irfan says T-Team was under no threat

From today's NST:

Johor Darul Ta'zim was awarded the abandoned FA Cup second round match against T-Team 3-0 by the FA of Malaysia's competitions committee today.

The committee rejected T-Team's reason for pulling out of the match at half-time over safety concerns.
However, FAM will investigate the alleged punch up at the Larkin Stadium and refer the case to its disciplinary board should any charges arise, said committee chairman Datuk Affendi Hamzah.

He said with the decision, Super League club Darul Ta'zim will meet Premier League side Kedah in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Feb 11 and Feb 18.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Larkin Stadium saga took a new twist when a T-Team player claimed that the match should not have been abandoned since the safety of T-Team players was not under any threat as alleged.

T-Team player Irfan Abd Ghani (pic), 25, claimed that the FA Cup match between T-Team and Jahor Darul Takzim (JDT) should not have been abandoned after half time since there was no untoward incident.

Irfan said while in the dressing room, he did not notice any injury on T-Team’s Brazilian import Evaldo Rodrigues and fitness coach Stefano Impagliazzo, who were allegedly assaulted by a high ranking JDT official.
