Making cycling safer

Last Tuesday, I had written a commentary about making our roads safer for cyclists as seen here. This was in light with an accident involving a motorbike and national cyclist Ng Yong Li along the MRR2 on April 22.

Yong Li's accident is the third involving a national cyclist. Mariana Mohammed suffered serious injuries while Rafizi Hamdan was killed on the spot.

There are many more cyclists who suffer accidents - most of them unreported.

I'm glad that Putrajaya and now the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council is taking steps of ensuring our roads are "bicycle friendly".

Read of Ampang Jaya's plans in today's NST.
