Mokhtar Dahari Challenge
The “Mokhtar Dahari Challenge” is an annual football tournament open to all former students of Victoria Institution. Since its inception in 2003, the tournament has become an annual gathering for the boys. This year 30 teams will participate in 3 different categories, open, masters and seniors. From batch 1978 to 2006, former national players like Shahrin Majid, Paul Raj, Ahmad Fairuz Yunos will comeback and play at the school ground where they used to train as a school boy. This Challenge Shield is a tribute to the late Mokhtar Dahari, arguably the best football player to ever don Malaysia’s national colours. He rose to prominence as a footballing talent back during his V.I. years and went on to become the nation’s most beloved striker.
