MSL Sdn Bhd no more?

Word has it that those working under MSL Sdn Bhd have been re-designated to positions within the FA of Malaysia (FAM). Apparently MSL Sdn Bhd - the marketing arm of the M-League - has ceased to exist but insiders claim they are unsure of its registration with the Companies Commission of Malaysia. As per a posting on this blog on Oct 29, 2012; The objective of forming MSL Sdn Bhd was a step towards the privatisation of the league. Nevertherless, it was somehow simply restricted to being the commercial arm of the league. Talking about MSL, is there a new CEO after Stuart Ramalingam left? Will there ever be an independent body? If true, then wouldn't this be a step backwards? The idea was to always ensure that the M-League ran privately and for it to be commercialised instead of allowing the state affiliates to dictate the terms and regulations. Also, is it true that a top official is "fed-up" with the running of the national body and the leagues? HD says...

Independent body for M-League

Haven't we heard this before? FA of Malaysia competition committee chairman Hamidin Amin was quoted by Bernama as saying; "The FAM secretariat will write a letter to the AFC soon to receive feedback on the setting up of the independent body, just like what a number of football powers in Asia have done." For the record, Hamidin is also FAM vice president and the FA of Selangor secretary. Why the need to form an independent body? Just look at Hamidin's position. He sits in the competition committee, is the vice president of the national body and is also a member of a state affiliate that competes in the Super League. However, one cannot blame Hamidin at all for it is the flawed system adopted by the FAM that allows such representation within the national body and the various committees. As seen in the English case of  R v Sussex Justices, Ex parte McCarthy; " Not only must Justice be done; it must also be seen to be done ."  What about MSL ...

Revamp lagi...

Sometimes revamps work. But when it is done too often, you lose focus. The Malay Mail is said to be undergoing a revamp - yet again . From an afternoon daily then it went morning, then it went back to afternoon and now the management wants to push it to the morning. From RM0.80, to being a free paper - ala The Sun - to now reverting back to a paid model. MSL Sdn Bhd, who supposedly run the M-League, are also talking about revamps. From introducing foreigners to axing foreign footballers to now discussing the possibility of bringing back the imports, etc etc etc. Much thought and studies should be placed before speaking of changes. Studies mean going to the ground and speaking to the people that actually matter about what should be changed and left behind. A revamp doesn't mean changing the name to create an illusion. It's about having substance. I'm talking about MSL by the way. Annuar Musa said MSL may be revamped again. Good to hear but please put much thought into it ...
