"Parliament to be dissolved on April 6. Elections will be held early May." This seems to be the talk of the town. If true dissolution takes place this Friday, the next question would be: when will the 14th General Elections take place? May 5, 2018 - a Saturday OR another date which falls on a working day? The Malaysian Insight, which has suspended its operations, highlighted the possibility of a  mid-week polling date . The report, published on March 29, stated:   " A mid-week election could result in a lower voter turnout for GE14, as there is a large diaspora of Malaysian voters, particularly in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, who return when the general election is usually held over the weekend." Having the general elections on a working day will be seen as an attempt to discourage the electorate from casting their votes. Many of our leaders tend to live in a bubble, unaware of the real sentiments on the ground.  They hardly interact with those from all walks and are often advised by their lackeys — yes-men who are only eager to say nice things and will do whatever it takes to keep their jobs and to satisfy their egos. Barisan Nasional (BN) won with the final tally of 133 seats - seven lesser than that what was achieved by in 2008. However, the coalition party managed to win Kedah and Perak unlike the past election. The numbers see BN winning slim majorities in most areas - and the indication is clear. The outcry on social media is apparent and there is no point turning a blind eye. The same happened in 2008 when the government then decided to ignore blogs and online portals. It backfired. Social media was not treated seriously up until recently and this was evident based on the conversations that revolved around the masses and the political parties. To call it a 'Chinese Tsunami' - perhaps is not the right choice of words. It is also clear that MCA has lost the plot while the results show that most do not really agree "extremist views" - thus the number of seats PAS had lost.  DAP and PKR - some just love them, others fell in love with them for they are simply the alter...

It is an unprecedented move as the KLFA issued a letter to former KL team manager Rusli Baba requesting him to quit the association after he decided to contest as an independent candidate at Lembah Pantai, going against Barisan Nasional's candidate Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin and PKR's Nurul Izzah Anwar. Raja Nong Chik is the FT & Urban Well-being Minister and he is also the patron of KLFA.   The decision was made based on a meeting on April 25 - five days after the nomination papers were filed by the candidates. Rusli acted as the team manager for the city outfit last season. KLFA president Astaman Abdul Aziz is an Umno-man, having served as Titiwangsa MP prior the 2008 elections. KLFA vice president Johari Abdul Ghani is currently contesting in the same Parliamentary seat under BN's banner. It would be good if candidates speak about what they can do instead of telling voters who they should not vote for. If Barisan Nasional's Bukit Bintang candidate Frankie Gan and his fellow candidates believe they can woo voters by singing their hearts out, by all means. But Gan failed to strike the right notes. Fateh Iskandar , Subahan Kamal , Mohd Shamsudin Lias and Fuad Hassan . These are the four names that have been apparently "listed" for the Menteri Besar's post if Barisan Nasional (BN) takes over from Pakatan in Selangor in the upcoming 13th General Election.
