KLFA officials in Perth to seek Glory

Several Kuala Lumpur FA officials are currently in Perth as part of a study group to learn more about the football structure there.
Led by Federal Territories Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Adnan Md Ikshan, officials of the newly promoted Super League outfit had earlier today met representatives from Perth Glory FC including club owner Tony Sage and chief executive officer Peter Filopoulos.
The other KLFA officials include KLFA Deputy President Datuk Astaman Abdul Aziz, general-secretary Nokman Mustaffa and executive member Hew Tze Ken.
The visiting officials were eager to study Perth Glory FC's:
- structure.
- vision and mission.
- Perth Glory Way 4 year plan.
They also watched an A-League match between Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory yesterday. The Melbourne side won 2-0 thanks to goals scored by Besart Berisha and Leroy George in the second half.
Perth Glory FC sales and membership manager Ghaz Ramli and KLFA exco member Datuk K. Sabaratnam.
A KLFA official said: "Some 20 officials from KLFA and the Federal Territories Ministry joined the retreat to Perth. It was also to study the football structure of A-League clubs there."
KLFA have been in doldrums for years and a good showing in the Premier League last season earned them a spot in the Super League next year.
Among the issues the city side faced include funding and the lack of talents.

What a shame! KLFA used to play friendly matches with Perth Glory in the 80s and so did Selangor and Karthu's national youth team. KL even hired players from Perth Glory among them goalkeeper Tommy Maras, Vasilios Kalogeeous, Peter Murphy.
ReplyDeleteToday after 25 over years we are going back to learn from them. And KL were soaring in the 80s and were pioneers to introduce professionalism - Tan Sri Elyas Omar. Those days players and coaches went for matches to Perth. Today officials go on study tour. And just got promoted to Super League after years in the backyard! And KL complain no money but got money to go study tour ! Sad! Some things never change and we wonder why our football in the doldrums!
