Lee Chong Wei nets 9th Malaysia Open title

Lee Chong Wei hardly broke a sweat when he defeated Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro 21-7, 21-8 to win his ninth Malaysia Open title and his second title of the year after netting the Korea Open last week.

Mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying made accompanied Chong Wei to the final but lost 21-13, 21-18 to Danish pair Joachim Fischer Nielsen-Christinna Pedersen.

Chong Wei's win was expected.

And what else was expected? The fact that no other Malaysian was named champion.

Sigh.

  1. LCW might be a great badminton player that Malaysia ever produced, but then again we also must not forget how miserable was he when facing Lin Dan in London Olympics?

Imagine, leading the third game 19-17(decider)but squandering it with poor mental skills. At that point, urgency did not prevail where its supposed to be.

Playing base and net was the most stupid tactic used by LCW at that point of time.

At the Olympic, LCW not only let the Malaysian down, he also put himself down by his mental incompetency when mattered most.

So, for me, LCW is not amongst the great player as portrait otherwise by many. No W-cup medal no Olympic gold when u had the chance which comes to shows that LCW is not that greatlah!

No w-cup no Olympic gold equivalent to; happy retirement soon...!

  2. Hello bro..LCW maybe equivalent or little bit down compare ti Lin Dan..but dont't forget, in history i think no player cam compete with Lin Dan skills, Speed, Power, jumping and pace.LD in own class and technique which so difficult to other player can reach that level.. If have LD in badminton..same as Ronaldinho in football..(look at personal individual character) LCW already amongs in world class player..

    1. Ayo yo bro,

At that moment of time(19-17) speed, power, jumping or pace was not the argument. LCW failed in his mental skills to finish off Lin Dan

All LCW needed was two points but Lin Dan gave LCW the humble pie plus take-away with four "mountain-ness" points.

      what say you?
